Corporate 501(c)3 Purpose:
Opening the door to positive change and effective, compassionate action by writing about real people, real history, and our relationships with each other and the planet.
My story: I'm a writer, singer, educator and speaker for positive personal, social, and environmental change. My goal is to use the power of the voice and pen to transform the divisiveness of this world to one of harmony, awareness, and connection. It's a joyous, motivated, terrifying, ecstatic, damn-the-torpedoes leap of faith that is my committed mission in this next stage of life. I will write, sing, speak, engage, and connect to compassionately meet the intersection of past, present, and future issues head-on. The world is on fire, both the planet and her peoples are hurting, and my kids and yours need us. Maybe it's the mother bear in me not wanting to remain mute any longer. Maybe it's the rising wise(r) woman, wanting to make things better for the next global generation while I'm still able-bodied and passionate enough to be able to release the waters of love, compassion, connection, mindfulness, and healing via the restorative and powerful force of the voice and pen.
After writing "Islands of Cedars" and seeing the effect is having on so many wonderful, open-hearted people, I had a realization: the facts of our human and ecological history, now relentlessly being buried by the oligarchy, urgently need to continue to be brought to light. Through narrative, song, and real human connection, they can be brought forward in a way that really engages our hearts. I and those working with me in this charity mission will use the voice and pen so that we can stop and see this archaic pattern of hurting one another and the planet, stop and see the suffering that lies beneath this pattern, and stop and see that once our deeper connections are identified and expressed, that we can find a way out of this pattern and into a transformed, harmonious future.
