Support the Furies at 7s Nationals!
The DC Furies (Washington Women’s Rugby Football Club) are headed to the 2022 USA Club Rugby National 7s Championship August 12-14 in St. Louis, MO! We are looking forward to a triumphant return to 7s Nationals.
After playing in several tournaments this summer with our two sides, Thunder (competitive) and Lightning (developmental), the Thunder side is headed to St. Louis! We are headed into the tournament as the second seed in our MAC division. This is the result of hard work put in by the players on and off the pitch.
"It takes more than just hard work to get to Nationals. It also takes money for travel, lodging, and food -- costs that can really add up, especially after a season of travel to qualifying matches. We'll bring our best to the rugby pitch, but we need your help to push us over the top! Can you help us defray the costs for our players going to Nationals, so we can make sure we're ready and able to play with Furies pride and kick some butt in St. Louis?"
News of qualification came late from tournament organizers, who were scrambling to put together a national-scale tournament in the COVID-19 landscape. Due to such late notification, the team was unable to book travel early for the big trip.
We’ll be traveling with a 13-player roster, our coach Maxey, and supportive teammates and WAGS.
Any amount is appreciated and will help this Nationals bound crew.
