The Coronavirus pandemic has hit us all very hard and our non-profit organization, The St. Nicholas Society (Welfare Society of St. Nicola di Tolentino, Inc) in East Rochester, NY has not been spared. For close to 100 years our home at St. Nicholas Hall, a beloved local landmark, has been host to charity benefits as well as community, cultural, and family events.
We honor local residents through our yearly Man/Woman of the Year Awards, provide scholarships to deserving East Rochester High School seniors, and work closely with other organizations for the common good of our community. We are proud members of the Italian Civic League and the East Rochester Chamber of Commerce.
Our source of income comes from membership dues and donations for events. This provides enough income to cover basic operating costs. However, since the coronavirus shut down there has been no source of income since all events have been cancelled.
Our slim resources are quickly dwindling. Another equally challenging issue is that our St. Nicholas Hall is in dire need of substantial capital updates which leaves our organization in even greater financial distress. Without assistance from family, friends, and supporters we will have to face the strong possibility of shutting our doors.
We are reaching out to ask for assistance during these troubling times.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will help us save an organization that has meant so much to so many and the St. Nicholas Society members thank you.
