Help Camp We-Go
Want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit Wellspring Education's summer Camp We-Go.
Wellspring Educational Services started in August 2013 as a small school dedicated to supporting children and families with special needs. We became certified by the California Department of Education as a nonpublic school partnering with local school districts to provide a range of supports to children and families. Our school programs encompass kindergarten through high school.
As part of Wellspring, we have operated Camp We-Go, a 4 week program dedicated to providing a summer camp experience to children who are typically not able to participate in a camp program. During camp, our teachers, camp leaders, youth volunteers, behavioral aides and director partner to provide an experience rich in social opportunities for each camper. Recognizing the individual profiles of our students, our emphasis is on experiential learning in functional contexts following a developmental approach. We focus on supporting learning through active engagement emphasizing social, cognitive, communication, sensory motor and emotional regulation. In addition, we include a weekly parent component to support our families.
Summer 2024 will be the THIRTEENTH summer of Camp We-Go. Camp We-Go started when one of the members of our community discovered there was no summer camp for her neuro-divergent son to attend. As a result, she reached out to Wellspring, offered her own private residential backyard, and Camp We-Go was born.
The play structure in her yard and the trampoline served us well for more than 10 years, but are ready to be retired. We are hoping to remove the old equipment and purchase a new play structure and trampoline. The funds raised would include the new play structure, trampoline, pad and mulch as well as an additional storage shed for our camp supplies. Any amount you can contribute will greatly help us keep Camp We-Go running, and serving the kiddos that have no other summer camp to attend.
Camp We-Go* is about whole child development! At camp we provide a strong social experience for every camper. We believe development happens at play when students are well regulated and engaged in learning.
Camp is an outdoor play experience with station activities that are developmentally appropriate for all campers. We organize small group outdoor stations developmentally appropriate for your child. Outdoor station activities include music, swimming, dancing, art, games, crafts and sensory play.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
