Send our team to World Championship in Houston TX
Please help Westwood Robotics, Inc. cover expenses for the Westwood Robotics team’s $5000 entry fee and trip to the World robotics championship in Houston, TX during April 19-22, 2023!
Westwood Robotics is a 501c3 non-profit organization (EIN: 82-3397607) composed of passionate high school students and adult mentors, who are seeking to provide meaningful STEAM experiences in our community.
Each year, we participate in the First Robotics Competition (FRC), where we have just under 8 weeks to design, fabricate, and program a competitive robot. Our students gain first hand experience in numerous technical aspects, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD), computer programming, and how to operate machining equipment such as routers, drill presses, and more. Additionally, our passionate students are eager to share their STEAM knowledge, hosting minicourses at the library, leading She Can STEM at Sheehan, and mentoring a First Lego League (FLL) team.
For the first time ever in our 18 year history, we have qualified for the FIRST World Championship in Houston, an honor awarded to few FRC teams! Having won the WPI Event and New England District Championship, we are ranked as the #1 team in Massachusetts, and the #2 team in all of New England. We are proud and excited for Westwood High School to get STEAM recognition and be among the towns which are known for a great robotics STEAM program.
While we are excited to attend the World Championship, a key part of robotics is raising funds to sustain the team. Therefore, we are asking for your help. Donations will not only support our World Championship trip, but enable us to build better robots, and offer more innovative STEAM programming to the community. Any-size donation would be incredibly helpful, appreciated and tax-deductible!
Thank you in advance for supporting our high school team, and we are looking forward to further success. Go Westwood Robotics!
