WildCat Ridge Sanctuary

WildCat Ridge Sanctuary provides a safe lifetime home for captive-born wildcats and other animals that have been rescued from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. We are a “last hope” refuge in beautiful Scotts Mills, Oregon. Because of the approaching wildfire, we had to evacuate our animals to safety on Sep. 9. We don't know how long we will be out of our sanctuary. OUR MOST URGENT NEEDS ARE FOOD FOR OUR ANIMALS AND TRANSPORT CRATES. 
It costs about $4,200 a week to feed all of our animals. And each transport crate costs $3,500--we need 11 to have enough crates to handle future needs, especially if an evacuation is ever necessary again.

PLEASE SHARE as we have a difficult road ahead of us. We are doing our absolute best to care for our precious big cats, little cats, and other rescued animals while they are out of their homes. But we truly need help.

We are grateful to Wildlife Safari for holding ALL of WCR's big cats, The Oregon Zoo for loaning the crates for transport, and the wonderful company Two Men and a Truck for transportation. (Small wildcats, hybrids, and domestics are housed in a pole barn in a safe and secluded area.) And of course, our incredible staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to make this all happen--they are true heroes.

Who
75 rescue cats, including tigers, cougars, bobcats, and more, all living out their lives in a peaceful and healthy environment at WildCat Ridge Sanctuary.

Where
On 82 forested acres on the edge of the Cascade Range outside Scotts Mills, Oregon. Not open to the public and a true refuge providing a second chance for abused and neglected captive-born wildcats.

What
A PTO (power take-off) driven generator ( Winco PTO Generator w/Three-Point Hitch Kit  w/ Tumbling Bar -10-25kW) to protect 12 freezers from defrosting, ruining thousands of pounds of raw meat to feed the cats. The goal is $3,689 to safeguard the lives of these beautiful animals, including the transfer switch.

Why
Any lengthy power outage (over a day or two) at this remote site would result in decimating the food supply of the animals. The cats consume over 200 pounds of meat daily.

When
Have the generator on-site before the winter, well-tested and operative.
The cats will be extremely grateful to have their meal's safety assured, as well as the keepers who tend to these spectacular wildcats. Your tax deductible contribution will be used to prolong furry lives.

WildCat Ridge Sanctuary provides a natural lifetime home for captive-born wildcats. As a true sanctuary, they are not open to the public, allowing the rescues a peaceful, stress-free life. Your donations go directly to the care of the wildcats which includes food & medication they will need.
