Give Northwest Florida wildlife a second chance!
Apollo is a Bald Eagle and a familiar face to our visitors the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida in Pensacola, FL. Apollo came to us in 1985 from the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey in Maitland, FL. at 2 1/2 years old with wing and talon issues that left him unable to be returned to the wild.
Apollo is one of three resident bald eagles, that along with 37 other permanently injured birds, call the Wildlife Sanctuary home. We also have an ongoing rotation of orphaned, injured or ill animals brought to us daily from at least 3 counties in Northwest Florida: Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa. It's a privilege to care for these magnificent eagles and all of the wildlife that come to us in need of critical care.
The mission of the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida is to provide a safe haven for injured and orphaned wildlife and to foster public awareness and appreciation of wildlife. This mission is accomplished through the mobilization and direction of public, private, and human resources to provide care, create natural habitats, and promote wildlife preservation through education. All of this is made possible through the generous support of donors, small grants, in-kind gifts, and many dedicated volunteers. We operate with a very small staff of 9 and are open every day of the year for animal drop-offs.
Won't you please consider donating a monetary gift to help us in caring for Apollo and friends as well as continue our efforts to rehabilitate and return wildlife to their natural habitat? Thank you for helping us give them a second chance.
