A Home for Hope House
Hope House has a wonderful opportunity: a permanent home from which we can solidify the ministry we are doing now and expand our work in the future. Can you help us make this dream a reality?
We have been given the gift of a down payment on the building at 495 E. Locust St. where the Door of Hope Church is now. The number of people requiring Hope House services is growing steadily and the resources available to these women and children can’t keep pace with the needs, so having this larger facility would be a huge blessing. If we can raise $10,000 by the end of November for closing costs and construction needs, we can move in! So, all month long, we will be seeking financial support as we work to finalize our move to where we will be able to serve more women and children in need of crisis care and protection, especially throughout the cold winter months.
Wilmington Hope House: “A Safe Place for Women and Children” is a faith-based, non-profit emergency, drop-in, stay-safe-sleep-space for women and children experiencing homelessness in Wilmington, Clinton County, and surrounding areas. We are completely staffed by volunteers. Hope House’s mission is to welcome, as Christ welcomed, those in need and to offer love, hope, and compassion within a clean, safe environment to help restore human dignity, self-respect and well-being.
Throughout the month of November, we will be sharing details about our effort to serve more homeless women and children by expanding the size of our location through our Facebook and GoFundMe pages. You are encouraged to review what we’re doing and donate to this effort. Please help us help so many others, and share this so that others can see it! Thank you for your generosity and supporting prayers.
