This page is set up to raise financial support for Katie McGinnis, who will be spending 9 months serving in Uganda with World Missionary Evangelism, Inc. as their National Director of Uganda from October 16, 2014 until mid-July 2015. Katie will be spending her first 3 months in central Uganda working in a very rural village called Pallisa, where she will be assisting with the start up of a brand new community health clinic, working with orphans at Kerith Children's Home, and helping to run a Saturday feeding program for local village children. In January 2015, Katie will be relocating to Ugandan's 2nd largest city- Jinja- where she will work alongside Home Again Ministry in the slums of Masese for 6 months. During her time in Jinja, Katie will be assisting with the start up of a weekly feeding program for hundreds of slum children, helping with a primary school expansion (Bethel Junior School) on the outskirts of the slum, and sharing the love of Christ with the beautiful people living in Masese.
In order to accomplish these things, Katie needs to raise $12,600 total in support for her 9-month service in Uganda. Katie needs to find at least 30 people who will commit to giving $30 each month* for her daily living expenses for the duration of her 9 months in Africa ($8,100 total). In addition to these daily living expenses, Katie also needs to raise an extra $4,500 to cover her flights to/from Uganda, her Ugandan Visa, and other necessary missions supplies.
