Wheels for Fizzgig!
Fizzgig, our educational ambassador opossum, is nearly 3 years old. For opossums, this is like being over 80yo! Recently he has been struggling to walk. Trips to the vet for x-rays have revealed that he has a congenital bone defect that affects his hips. So, like many grandpas his age, Fizzgig is in need of a walker to help him get around. That is why we are starting this GoFundMe - to create a geriatric support fund to help Fizzgig during this golden era of his life. Your donation would go towards the cost of a custom wheelchair, as well as vet bill expenses for his frequent checkups.

Through education we raise awareness of these wild residents of our cities in the hope that a better co-habitation will lead to less injuries/orphans and more enjoyment of our urban wildlife. ZIPPY THE FOX SQUIRREL NEEDS HELP!
Zippy was born last spring in the backyard of a Bay Area homeowner and squirrel lover. She named him for his speed and agility and the pure joy he seemed to radiate as he leapt through the trees chasing and playing with other young juveniles. But some time later, he seemed to disappear for several weeks, and when he next showed up, he was in very bad shape: emaciated, so weak he could barely climb, and with a horribly swollen face and left eye. After humanely trapping him, his guardian turned to Yggdrasil Wildlife Urban Rescue to get help for him. After receiving life-saving antibiotics, pain medications, and nutritious food, Zippy is now through the worst BUT he is left with facial and jaw deformities that require an expensive surgery for him to live a comfortable life. We desperately need your financial help to pay for this surgery scheduled for December 6th.

At Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue (YUWR) we provide care for wildlife found by the public or county animal services. We are a dedicated group of volunteers committed to rehabilitating orphaned and injured wildlife living in urban areas. We are committed to educating the public on how to live harmoniously with our cities’ wildlife. As a non-profit, you can imagine the ongoing costs of shelter, food and medical treatment for our wildlife patients. We rely on the public's generosity for support, especially to help with special cases like poor Zippy.

Your donation will help pay for Zippy’s surgery and treatment and for other wildlife patients needing our help. Please help us if you can – No donation is too small, and every dollar will be gratefully spent to save lives!

Emergency Veterinary Expenses for Wildlife
We need your help!

We need to raise $8,000 by October 10th to provide urgent specialized veterinary care for several of our wildlife patients needing emergency, life-saving surgery. Would you consider helping us cover expenses for these life-saving surgeries to give our precious wildlife a second chance at life? Vet bills add up, but so does every dollar donated! So please consider donating, spreading the word, sharing our plea for help, or doing whatever you can to help us get the treatment these animals need, whether it’s the price of your morning cup of coffee or even covering an entire surgery.

About Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue

MISSION STATEMENT To rehabilitate injured and/or orphaned urban wildlife (endangered and otherwise) with the goal of releasing the animal back into the wild, giving it a second chance at life, and reducing the human impact on the environment through habitat preservation and native plant restoration. To inspire youth through education programs teaching the importance of protecting the environment for our own sake, as well as the health of our planet. Through classroom and community center visits, we try to spark the imagination of inner-city kids about new possibilities in the environment they share with animals and about how, and why they should protect it. To provide humane solutions to wildlife issues in our cities: Education and referral of the general public on how to solve conflicts between humans and wildlife in a humane manner. We give step-by-step instruction on howto humanely solve these problems without the involvement of a trapper or pest-control exterminator. We will often make visits to a home in order to humanely solve the problem.
