Secret needs your help! Secret was rescued from a local shelter upon intake 2 weeks ago. He is the runt of his litter of 6, who all suffered from severe flea infestations, diarrhea and upper respiratory tract infections. Although everyone made a remarkable recovery with intensive care at home and appropriate medications, Secret has been the slowest to recover. He weighs about half that of his siblings and has had a waxing and waning appetite. We were able to catch that Secret has abnormal heart sounds and an elevated respiratory rate, leading us to pursue an echocardiogram and chest x-rays at UC Davis. Secret has congenital heart disease (that does not require medications at this time) and pneumonia. With additional antibiotics, he has shown significant improvement and is now racing around with his siblings. He will need a recheck echocardiogram in 8-10 weeks to determine how we can best support his heart as he grows. Please consider helping us cover Secret's costs. We believe every kitten deserves a chance to receive the best veterinary care, regardless of whether or not they are owned.

Scar was adopted from us at just a few months old along with his brother, Simba. Unfortunately, he had been diagnosed with a foreign body obstruction in his GI tract, requiring surgical intervention to save his life. His owner is unable to assume care for them, so Scar will be coming back to our program to have his life saving procedure and hopefully go on to live a happy life with his brother!

While we were certainly not expecting this bill, we make a lifelong commitment to all of our animals to support them no matter how long it has been. Please help us in saving little Scar!

Skipper was abandoned in a box next to a diner trash can in the middle of a storm along with his 4 siblings. Miraculously, he survived long enough to make it into rescue and has been putting up a good fight in foster care with intensive support. At just 400 grams in weight, he's been warm and cozy in an incubator and has been receiving fluids and medications. His bloodwork unfortunately has shown a dangerously low level of red blood cells in his body, and he is currently receiving a blood transfusion at Uc Davis. Skippy might be small, but he's got a lot of heart! Donations will cover the cost of his hospitalization and any extra funds will support the vetting of his siblings.

**Update: We have increased our goal for Skipper's care. Although Skip is out of the woods as far as any life threatening conditions, he is displaying clinical signs consistent with an esophageal motility disorder. In order to diagnose any potential congenital abnormality we will have to pursue additional diagnostics with an internal medicine team as he continues to grow and are hoping to get started fundraising these costs now.
