Charlie MacLennan Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Every little girl looks up to her dad as the first man she says "I love you" to. On July 7 we learned that Charlie MacLennan passed away and leaves behind his young daughter, Henley, his "Peanut." She was his whole world - the light of his life. And the feeling was mutual - when he walked into a room, her entire face would light up.
The two of them would go on grand adventures and he had dreams of her leading an active and fulfilling life. Now that Charlie is now longer with us, we want to ensure she has the life he always hoped he could provide her.
'Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family: whatever you call it, whomever you are, you need one'. While Henley has a loving foundation, we cannot fill the void alone. We swallow our pride, accept our humanity in its joys and failings and reach out to the greater community for any assistance; no donation is too small to build an everlasting house on a hill, a beacon of light that shines through the clouds of the disease of addiction. The opioid crisis is a pandemic. Nothing defines innocence more than the children that remain after the storm.
Please consider donating to this fund to support Henley. These funds will be used for expenses as they arise - counseling sessions, daycare costs, clothing and dance/art classes (https://crhcf.org/Blog/how-arts-and-crafts-help-children-express-grief/). Our family would be grateful for any assistance to help meet our goal.
Note: I, Bridget, am Charlie's sister and will withdraw from this GoFundMe and place in an account set up for Henley. Funds will be used for expenses as I am made aware of the need by either my parents or Henley's mom. If there are adequate funds, a post-secondary savings account will be set up for Henley.
