Told by momma. Charlie came to us in a whirlwind 3 weeks early on Feb.1st. She was 9 lbs and absolutely perfect! For almost 5 weeks she was the calmest sweetest baby. On Saturday, March 3rd Charlie had a little cough. By Wednesday we were admitted to the hospital for RSV. It went from coughing to serious very quickly. Thursday she was moved up to the ICU, and by Thursday night she was no longer able to breathe on her own. She was intubated that evening. Watching my tiny baby fight that hard to breathe has been the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. There was so much unknown and it was very scary for all of us. Charlie is still on the ventilator and now fighting RSV, pneumonia and two other infections in her lungs. Every day she gets a little better and initiates more and more of her own breaths. I am on unpaid maternity leave so I have been able to be here since she was admitted. My husband Trent has split his time between staying with his girls and caring for our 2 year old son Lincoln. Due to the nature of his job, he is not safely able to work right now. So many people have been wonderful to us during this difficult time. We are so grateful to everyone at the hospital. The staff has been amazing and all of this will be worth every dollar it will cost. We thank everyone who has provided us with meals and helped with Lincoln and our dogs. We are especially thankful for your prayers and support.
