Charmaine’s Cancer Cure Hope
Donation protected
On July 24th 2017, Charmaine was rushed to the emergency room at Doctor's Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas with severe pains in her back, nausea, and vomiting. Immediately, she knew something was wrong and her worst fears were confirmed.
After beating cervical cancer in November, 2015, she had now been diagnosed with urethral cancer, which is the most rare of all urological cancer.
Charmaine, has undergone surgery to remove her kidney which the cancer spread to, and has gone through endless rounds of different chemotherapy treatments.
In late October, Charmaine developed an allergic reaction to her latest course of chemotherapy which has lead to her having extreme pain and more questions than answers.
Charmaine and her family is seeking assistance for her to travel to the USA, for further testing, a new course of treatment, clarity, hope, and answers. We know that no cancer is stronger than our Charmaine.
Thankfully, Charmaine does have medical insurance, however while supporting two young sons, Nathan (12) and Aaron (7) , with her supportive husband, Alex, the cost of her medical expenses is mounting. This is why we need your help. Despite having insurance, Charmaine's co-pays and uncovered expenses have already exceeded the family’s savings.
As Charmaine and her family live in the Bahamas, this means months of lost wages, flights to/from the USA, hotel stays, and many other related expenses.
Charmaine is just 48 years old and is currently a teacher at Saint Andrew’s International School. She was an active teacher at Saint Thomas Moore Catholic Primary School, where she was stern yet fair. She believes that learning should be fun, and made a lasting impression on the many Junior Junkanooers, Dance Troope members, and all the students that entered her class room. She’s a huge JBLN baseball league fan which her sons are active members of.
We love Charmaine so much, and can not imagine our lives, or Nathan and Aaron's lives without her.
Would you please consider a contribution to her medical and support fund? No amount is too small. Together we can make a profound impact on her care, recovery, and support.
If you are unable to donate, the family would greatly appreciate your prayers. Please share Charmaine's story so that everyone can be a part of her journey to recovery.
Thank you.
