Having launched on Tuesday,  April 23, ChelseaCommunityNews.com is dedicated to covering the people, places, activities, and concerns of Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood (including  Hudson Yards, with occasional coverage of Hell’s Kitchen and Greenwich Village). Helmed by veteran NYC editor/journalist Scott Stiffler, and supported by a staff of diverse, driven, talented contributors, the website offers (with no paywalls or pop-up ads) long-form investigate pieces, small business profiles, arts/entertainment features, LGBTQ+ news and arts, crime reports, community board reporting, calendar listings, family-friendly activities, and bold opinion pieces (by elected officials, activists, and longtime members of the community).

Chelsea deserves a web destination dedicated to telling its stories, and championing its residents. Your support will give this project wings, and legs. In fact, it won't be possible without the support of our readers. Please join us in this new venture, by making a financial contribution--and consider volunteering your time and talent, all of which will allow us to publish new content on a regular basis.

That content is being created by a stellar roster of writers and reporters--many of them recruited by Stiffler over his years as editor of Chelsea Now newspaper (2010-2018), during which the team's Chelsea-centric arts, news, and features coverage garnered multiple First Place awards in the New York Press Association's annual Better Newspaper Contest. Now,  with your help, new work can be commissioned by the likes of Charles Battersby, Max Burbank, Gerald Busby, Chiffon Dior, Daniel Kwak, Winnie McCroy,  Rev. Jen Miller, Michael Musto, Mark Nimar, Puma Perl, Rania Richardson, Trav S.D. (aka Travis Stewart), Eileen Stukane, John Foster Thomas, Cathy Towle, and Elizabeth Zimmer.

NOTE: This campaign has been organized by Chelsea Community News founder/editor Scott Stiffler, who is based in, appropriately enough, the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. Monies raised from this campaign, deposited into the Chelsea Community News bank account, are used primarily to commission content for the site (as well as operating expenses such as travel, postage, and website maintenance).
