On Saturday, June 17, what started as a beautiful memorial for a loved one turned tragic. As many of you know, the deck where the memorial service was taking place collapsed and many people were hurt.
Sadly, Christi was one of those who was severely injured. She was taken by ambulance to KRMC in Kalispell, and then flown by air ambulance to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Matt has been at her side the whole time.
Christi shattered her L3 lumbar vertebrae, and the fragments are threatening her spinal cord. Surgery is set for Monday at 8:30 AM to remove the debris. She remains in critical condition at this time.
Many details about her condition and recovery are still uncertain, but more information should be known after the surgery. Please check back and we will do our best to keep everyone updated.
Lilly, Ashlynn, and Warren will be traveling out in the next few days to be with their parents, and their length of stay is unknown. As a potter, Matt will not be able to work, they will have increased living expenses being so far from home, on top of what will likely be unimaginable medical expenses. If it is in your heart and you are able, financial donations would be greatly appreciated.
