Christopher Popp Medical Emergency

Donation protected
On Tuesday, June 4th, our 30 year old brother, Christopher Popp, went into anaphylactic shock at work briefly after consuming something that had been cross contaminated with peanuts. Chris has had this life-threatening peanut allergy ever since he was a toddler and although he has suffered multiple severe allergic reactions, he has always remained extremely attentive to possible peanut contaminations. Upon biting into the sandwich, Chris quickly recognized that he was consuming a peanut product of some kind and shouted “peanuts.” Unfortunately, in an attempt to administer his EpiPen himself, the needle bent and he collapsed. By the time his coworkers at Trump National were able to get to him, he was blue in the face and unresponsive. They attempted to straighten out the EpiPen needle which ultimately caused the metal to snap. By this point, Christopher had no pulse and CPR was started immediately in attempt to resuscitate our brother. Once the EMTs had arrived, multiple cycles of CPR were administered along with 3 rounds of epinephrine. Christopher went into cardiac arrest twice before the EMTs were able to bring back his pulse and transport him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. While in route to the hospital our brother coded once again in the ambulance. Christopher arrived to the ER unresponsive and was put on a ventilator and heavy sedatives.  On Tuesday night, the medical professionals decided to put Christopher into a hypothermic state and medically paralyze him in attempt to give the body a chance to rest and stabilize his vital signs. After 16 hours of cooling the body to 32 degrees Celsius, they began to slowly warm his body back up to normal body temperature. As of now, they have stopped the paralytics and the cooling/warming technology. They are also slowly weening him off of the sedatives and watching for brain activity. Christopher has always been a strong, kind, and resilient man. He has made an impact on so many lives and we all need him to push through this so that he can continue to be a light in everyone’s life. Everyone who knows Christopher, knows that he is always willing to drop whatever he is doing to help others. He has so much to offer this world and has been our rock through every family hardship that life has faced us with. Christopher is the prime example of what a gentleman should be and is so well versed in a variety of trades, all of which has shaped him into the wonderful brother, son, boyfriend, and friend we have all come to know. Whether you've met him while growing up in Long Valley, or for his services at the Local Brew Pub, The Rail in White House NJ, and Trump National Bedminster/Colts Neck, or any of his volunteer efforts around the community, please say a prayer for his recovery. We need a miracle to happen and everyone's prayers and positive energy mean the world to us. Our reasoning behind creating this page is with the intent of spreading his story so anyone who has met our brother can take a moment to pray for him and keep him in their thoughts.  Unfortunately, Christopher currently does not have any insurance so when he makes it to the recovery phase we want to try our best to avoid him feeling any burden of the rehab/medical expenses. In the event that you graciously decide to donate, please know that we are all grateful for everyone's kindness and prayers. Christopher Popp will be the sole beneficiary and a special disability trust fund is being set-up in his name.  Alexandra Popp (his sister) has been assigned by the family to manage his finances while he remains in a coma.  She will be temporarily withdrawing funds and safeguarding them in a private savings account, on behalf of The Popp Family, until the trust fund has been finalized by a family attorney.  Funds will then directly be transferred to that trust. Thank you,
