Chroma Cove Fire Fund

"Chroma Cove is the studio and pop up gallery of local artist Andrea Dillingham (aka Andrea Really). This was a place where emerging artists in Birmingham could show their work in a fine art gallery setting while still enjoying a fun and welcoming environment. There were several shows hosted throughout the short half-year of its existence, all of them having a stellar turn out and positive response from our creative community. When Andrea wasn't planning and hosting the monthly shows, the space was her own personal art studio, where she made paintings, drawings, video shoots, and more.
Saturday night, April 1st, was the last show at Chroma Cove. It was a photography exhibition focused on the theme of Identity. Five local photographers were featured in the show, and it was a happy and successful night. Afterwards, Andrea cleaned up and locked up the gallery alone before heading out to celebrate with friends. Everything seemed normal as usual and she picked up trash on the porch on her way out. However, less than an hour and a half later, the building was engulfed in flames and surrounded by fire trucks, fire fighters, police, and loved ones. The building is condemned and the gallery is completely destroyed.
According to investigators, the fire was either an electrical issue in the very old building, or a cigarette hidden in a bed of leaves, slowly smoldering where no one could see.
All of the artists prints were lost. The entire gallery and all the furniture and decorations are gone. But more devastatingly, Andrea lost all of her current artwork and her entire collection of art supplies.
Please donate what you can to help this local artist get back to doing what she loves. Andrea has goals of applying to grad schools by the end of the year to achieve her MFA. She has lost all her current work and has no art supplies to make new work. Supplies are expensive and take time to gather. Any bit of donation makes a huge difference to Andrea and the community she so loves to be a part of.
