City Yonder Presents its second trip to Watamu Kenya to do Sea turtle conservation. City Yonder is collaborating with Working Abroad and Kenya Wildlife Service (Watamu Marine Park ) to create opportunities for young people of color, immigrants, and or residents of urban communities to travel outside the United States and make a difference in the world. City Yonder is not your typical traveling group where it differs by;
1. Creating opportunities geared toward volunteering, cultural and educational experiences rather than pleasure and leasure .
2. Provides financial aid for ALL participants no matter their financial background.
3.Collaborations with local and international organizations and businesses.
4. Provide a means of awareness for world issues and for participants to become more culturally acceptant.
All funds will be used for financial aid for:
-9 nights accommodation including weekday lunch, traveling support, program fee, and airport transportation for 6 people.
-6 Round trip tickets to Grenada and insurance
-Security money for Trip 2019
The Goal is to prioritize reducing flights to make purchasing flights more affordable and traveling as a group more doable. Each person will receive $1000 to reduce the amount for flights and approximately $150-$200 off of their program fee. Here is the break down of costs:
-Program Fee: $795/person (includes Visa, insurance, meal/laundry coverage
-Flight Average: $1500

400 FRIEND CHALLENGE
City Yonder is doing a 400 friend challenge to reach above our funding goals for the 2019 trip! This is how it works! From now till next August if we receive 400x $20 donations we will be able reach our goal with a little extra to split among travelers! Thats 50x $20 donations a month for a year and we will have made our goal! We are also going to be doing some giveaways to those who give! Every 20th donation will receive a free gift in thanks of supporting City Yonder's fundraiser!
