“City vs Poly or Poly vs City, whichever side you claim, it still equates to the same thing , L O V E .”
Dating back to 1889, two of Baltimore City's best public high schools have competed against each other in the classroom and on the gridiron to produce excellence. No matter which side wins or loses, both schools have the same goal, to bring the best out of one another. This great tradition and rilvary is one of the oldest in our country, and it continues to thrive because of the support and commitment of it's students, staff, alumni, and local community.
The goal of this documentary project is to share one of Baltimore City's great traditions with the world. While the city has had it's fair share of negative press over the last 30 years, this Baltimore story truly represents it's essence, hard work and perseverance. We will follow the student athletes, faculty, staff, and alumni from fall 2017-fall 2018 to capture all aspects of this tradition. This will include the traditional homecoming football game, tailgate, alumni meetings, football and band practices, classroom activities, scholastic competitions, parent-student relations, and more.
We will follow & interview the student athletes, faculty, staff, alumni, and honoree alumni & associations between the 2017 & 2018 game to capture all aspects of this great tradition.
The focal point of this story is the game, but will also include: footage of players leading up to the game, the alumni associations preparation, the tailgate celebration, classroom & school achievements, commentary and school history presented by Poly and City graduates that have become successful leaders in government, art, sports, and business, the football teams & bands.
We've been filming since September 2017, and funds collected will be used to employ the production team, staff, and for marketing purposes. Also, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to funds that support both high schools.
Thank you for your contribution. With your help, we will be able to share one of Baltimore City's great traditions with the world.
