Preserving and Honoring History
As we attempt to build a historical museum on the cemetery property.
The Brawner House , a museum of historical facts, which upon completion will be the only cemetery in the state of Florida, that we believe, that have a museum on its property. The building will showcase historical artifacts and photos in a replica of an actual shotgun house that slaves would have live in.
Be a part of history. Help us fund the construction of this necessary historical building on a historical landmark. We are asking for your support with a donation of whatever you can give ; no donation is to small.
The museum will be added to the property at 150 South Cypress Way, Casselberry, Florida 32707, on the actual grounds of the cemetery . Evergreen Cemetery, Inc., is a beautiful cemetery of historical significance. In 1890, Mr. and Mrs. Brawner donated 16 acres of land for the establishment of a cemetery for black slave s, during a time when they were not allowed in most cemeteries. As a nonprofit cemetery, Evergreen Cemetery, Inc., does not charge for any grave spaces, but accepts donations instead. Thank you for your support!
