We've been asked to raise our goal as we had not anticipated such a generous show of support in a short period of time. This also gives us the opportunity to sponsor more kids and generate more awareness and research into hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).
Help send Bay Area kids to lacrosse camps and support research into hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) in the spirit of Colin O’Kane.
Whether you knew Colin O'Kane or knew of him, you know by now he was an exceptional person. He was a prayer answered--longed for and deeply loved, his unexpected passing propels us through a kaleidoscope of emotions. One of which is an astonishing pride, even deeper than during his lifetime. We used to wonder how he could be so good with children since he was the only child in our home until we realized he was simply good with everyone. And at 25, a grown man. So the stories we have loved hearing these past months are about things we wouldn't know: looking in the eyes of an incoherent homeless man and nodding as if he understood, sensing a troubled teen on the lacrosse field and taking time out to listen, or dancing wildly at a wedding when his pants split...and he kept on dancing. Continuing Colin's tendency to give away his own lacrosse gear to kids who needed it, we thank you for your contribution to the Colin O'Kane Foundation. We will help to provide materials and camp opportunities to aspiring players. In addition, funds will go to increase awareness and screening of HCM in young athletes. With your kind donation, we pay forward the love our wonderful boy gave to us.
We thank you so much.
With Love,
Ann and Sean O’Kane
