Colton Rood Memorial Scholarship

Colton Ellis Rood way born July 1st 1997 son of Rick and Michelle Rood and brother to Rick and Merissa Rood. Colton was a Christian, a son, a brother, and a friend in that order. On September 3 2016, Colton went home to be with the lord after a motorcycle accident that occured when a vehicle turned in front of him on a small contry road in Rome, GA.  While the community mourned the loss of such a good young man the celebration of life and the influence he left on this city ovcershadowed any sorrow that tried to infringe on his legacy. In life Colton wanted nothing more than to be a friend and to lead his friends to Christ, with his passing he was able to bring 26 of his friends to Jesus which give all of his family peace in knowing Colton accomplished what he set out to do before he went home to the Lord. In the short amount of time Colton spent on this earth he excelled at everything he did. Baseball, basketball, acedemics, and being and encouraging uplifting friend to everyone are just some of his amazing traits. In Colton's honor the Colton Rood Memorial Scholarship fund was established so that other young students in our city may have the opportunity to excell and reach the world the way Colton was able to in his 19 years of life and so that whomsoever received this schaloarship's assitance can go on to do wonderful things in their life the way Colton would have wanted. In addition to the student aid aspect portions, of this fund will be alotted to community outreach and be available for families in need during hard financial times. Colton lived to serve others and in that same fashion his memorial fund will continue to do the same. Thank all of you who decide to donate to this cause, Colton was a wonderful gift to this world from God and with your help his legacy will continue to  inspire, encourage, and change lives wherever he can help.
