Computer crisis - need replacement to work!

Our server just died today.
After a power outage, when I brought the server back up - well, to cut a long story short, the motherboard appears to have developed a fault that makes it mostly unusable - and will probably only last a few days even in its kluged-together state - and it's a sufficiently old dinosaur of a machine that it's not readily repairable.
Why is this an emergency?
Because everything I and my wife do as a source of income (writing - you may know me from the Tales of the Associated Worlds series - software development, two kinds of freelancing) depends on our home network, and without this particular machine essentially nothing works, and that means neither of us can work.
And this hardware failure happened at exactly the wrong time in our variable self-employed cash flow. We could replace the server with one that will do its job perfectly for a little under $500, but right at this particular moment, we don't have $500 to replace it with.
Anything you could spare to get us back up and running would be most appreciated!
Thank you very much for your help.
