Connected By Color Documentary

In the current climate of the United States, with the polarized election and President Trump, I have noticed that it can be difficult to love yourself as a woman of color. There are multiple systems of injustice against us whether it is because of our race, socio-economic status, religion, ability, gender-identity, or sexual orientation. Connected By Color is a documentary that will show how beautiful we are as women of color both inside and out and how we plan on changing the world around us!

Connected By Color will follow the lives of 13 extraordinary women of color from various parts of the US and tell their stories authentically - focusing on their strength, resilience, and how they turn their day-to-day struggles into a muse for change. By telling their stories, I hope to encourage young people to make a difference as well. 

Though all of the women are of color, I will focus on how their other identities intersect to make them who they are. It is rare that stories about women of color are actually told by women of color, but I am breaking that mold. We are often the backbone of so many movements, yet we remain hidden figures and our stories are never told. Let's fix that! With your donations, we can make this film come to life and fund equipment purchases/rentals, editing software, travel expenses, music for the film, entry fees to film festivals, and more costs associated with this documentary.
