Lily's Legacy
Lily Harrison is an integral member and DJ of the Seattle dance community. 7 years ago, she began dancing at Hallie's Loft and has continued to bring her joy of dance and music to Seattle and beyond. When we see her, we know it’s going to be a good night, whether it’s blues, lindy hop, balboa, fusion, or more. She approaches each of her dances with cheer and every one of her DJ sets with our connection and fun in mind. A passionate and accomplished dancer, DJ, competitor, and budding teacher, Lily inspires all who know her to enjoy the creative process *and* work hard at their craft. Dancers all over the country light up when they see Lily at an event.

Those who bring the most light to us, however, have often seen the most darkness. Lily is an amazing human being who has suffered a level of trauma in her life that most of us cannot possibly wrap our heads around. In spite of this, she is seeking to continue to heal and recover, regardless of many setbacks. Sadly, Lily has conditions that prevent her from working full time, which in turn makes it difficult for her to purchase the care that she needs. She's a person who cares deeply for others, has great creative potential, and who wants so badly to lead a life of independence.
Where Our Connections Begin
At her doctors' recommendation, she has begun the process of finding a service animal. If she could pay with her aspirations she would be set, but unfortunately trained service animals don't come cheap. A service animal will cost approximately $8,000 outside of vet bills, food and upkeep.
In addition, the medications that are required for her everyday living are prohibitively expensive even for someone who is working a full-time job. Appointments with specialists, ambulance rides and recent hospitalizations that included overnight stays in intensive care have also burdened Lily with medical bills that need to be addressed.
Now we (her friends, family and community) are stepping forward to raise funds for her and stand with her in her commitment to the healing process. All funds given to this campaign will go directly to Lily for general medical expenses, living expenses, and will fund her service animal.
A Dancer's Intention
The events to which Lily contributes are innumerable; our dance community's heart beats, in part, because of her influence. It is our intention as her community, friends, and family to make the walk to recovery not so lonely or fearful for someone who has touched our very souls in the most meaningful of ways.
In dance, some of the most graceful lifts that appear light as air depend on solid connection and support. Thank you to all our donors for being that support, that connection that will help provide the strength to lift Lily as smoothly as possible through her challenging healing journey.
