Connectopod Youth Podcast

"You've got a voice, kid. Use it!"
Using podcast as a vehicle, the Connectopod Learning curriculum develops youth leaders with an understanding that every story has multiple points of view and that we are all connected. We especially reach out to kids in adverse environments and we shift the focus from needing to leading. In the process of creating a podcast, youth reporters learn to reach out, speak out, listen and to create their own opportunities, and that empathy and facts matter.
Our team produces about 1 show per month, which we then post to the Connectopod website (www.connectopod.net). The beauty is the podcast show itself is a byproduct of the real goal: to transcend barriers, boundaries and any preconceived notions a child has of themselves or that others may have of them. Listen to our podcast here !
Our youth journalists, ask the tough questions and the fun questions, too. They do the research, but they would never tell you it was research - they are simply following their curiosity wherever it may lead them. They also pick up technical skills, learn how to interview, pump up their literacy, and become confident public speakers. These kids create an online body of work that serves as a resume they can refer to anytime for scholarship applications, jobs and college applications.
As we've developed the show and Connectopod Learning curriculum we have seen confidence soar in every child that participates in the program!
This is where you come in! Your donations will go towards funding our program in schools that could not otherwise afford it. You will be supporting youth journalists by funding equipment (including laptops, tablets, microphones), internships and staff.
Our program operates all year long. We work with schools and youth programs and ogranizations.
Connectopod Learning is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID #82-3500019). Your donations are tax deductable.
