Connie's Loving Care

Donation protected
Connie Brown passed away at 75 years of age after suffering from Alzheimers for 5 years.

Connie was known for many things: An active member of her Congregational church, a member of the singing and bell choir, a volunteer in the community and schools, and the Registrar at Groton School. But she was also known for being a "second Mom" to so many people, a best friend, an incredible quilter, an amazing baker, and always someone you could rely on.

She not only raised 4 children, took care of 8 grandchildren, but truly took care of anyone inside her home, including her husband Bob. When she became ill, Bob stepped up and took care of her every day. Everything from helping her get dressed and tying her shoes, to cooking and doing laundry which he hadn't done in over 50 years. He always said, "Connie put up with me for over 50 years, this is the least I can do for her." And whenever there would be a frustrating day and the rest of us ask him, "how can you do this day in and day out Dad?" he simply replied, "She's my girl."

Now we're looking for help for Bob - someone to help prepare a couple of meals a week, or someone to help him with cleaning the house. These are simple services to so many people and at the age of 80 has become harder tasks for Bob.  Anything that is donated will be used to help offset the expenses of eldercare services for Bob and will be truly appreciated.
