Camila's Guide Dog Campaign

Hello everyone and welcome to my campaign. Thank you so, so much for stopping by. I really hope you enjoy.
My name is Camila Carvajal and I am 13 years old. I was born legally blind due to a condition microphthalmia. This condition causes me to have light, shadow, and extremely limited color perception. Due to my extreme lack of vision I have had to depend on a white cane for my entire life. I personally don't like the associations made with the white cane and avoid using it as much as possible. This, in turn, leads me to depend on friends and family for my mobility.
For the longest time owning a guide dog has been my deepest desire. For those of you who don't know a guide dog is highly trained to guide blind individuals safely around obstacles. Until recently I was told I was too young, or that I wasn't responsible enough. That is until I found Mira Usa.
Mira Usa usually provides guide dogs to blind children free of charge. My case, however, is quite a different one. I have been allowed the opportunity to raise the funding to match me with a dog of 60000 dollars. If I would have decided to wait it would have been a minimum of 2 years. Due to the fact that Mira only receives funds from donors very few children are matched with dogs each year. This creates the lengthy waiting list. If Mira had the proper funding the waiting list could be eliminated once and for all.
With your support my dream of having a guide dog would finally come true. The best part is if we raise above 60,000 dollars we would be giving another blind child the same opportunity. With the support of my amazing friends, my wonderful teachers, and you we can make my dream possible!
Ps: just to be clear my mom, Margarita Guillem, is receiving the funds, since she is over the age of 18. She will keep them for me until we reach our goal.

Esta situación hace que yo tenga luz, sombra y percepción del color extremadamente limitada. Por esta razón he tenido que usar bastón toda mi vida que personalmente no me gusta usarlo en publico .y eso me me convierte dependiente de amigos y familiars para mi movilidad.
Durante mucho tiempo mi deseo más profundo es tener un perro guía altamente capacitado y de forma segura como guía entre obstáculos. Hasta hace poco me dijeron que era demasiado joven, o que yo no era lo suficientemente responsable. hasta que encontré MIRA USA.
Esta organización proporciona los perros guía a los niños ciegos de forma gratuita. Mi caso, sin embargo, es muy diferente. Se me ha dado la oportunidad de aumentar los fondos para conseguir un perro y costos asociados. Si yo hubiera decidido esperar a que el programa me califique tomaría 2 años mínimo Fundación Mira sólo recibe fondos de donantes y muy pocos niños se benefician cada año. Esto crea la larga lista de espera. Con la financiación adecuada se podría eliminar esta larga lista de espera una vez por todas.
