Jailed Beavercreek Ohio Police Accountability Activist Needs Your Help

Hello. My name is Benjamin Virnston and I am a Cop Blocker in the Dayton, Ohio area. We demand police accountability and seek justice for victims of police misconduct.

 

I was arrested Saturday at a protest in memory of John Crawford III, the man who was fatally shot by police in a Beavercreek, Ohio Wal-Mart for holding a BB gun he took off the shelf.

 

My friend and I sat down and locked arms in front of a police car that was approaching the mass of protesters, blaring its sirens, and ordering us to disperse. They demanded we stand and leave immediately, and when we refused, they arrested us.

 

We were charged with criminal trespassing and obstructing official business. We're facing up to 120 days of jail time and over $1000 in fines and legal fees.

 

Your kind donation will help me with the cost of defending myself in court and paying the fines if I lose. As a full-time college student who is only able to work part-time jobs, I simply do not have the money to defend myself in a lengthy trial.
