Corinne's Battle with Crohns
Donation protected
My name is Judith Eskenazi and I am writing this campaign to help my mom, Corinne.
My mother has struggled with Crohn's Disease for the past 30 years. She has always pushed through and continued to do her best for me and my sister even though she was very sick. However, as time is passing her health has been severely declining.
Back in September of 2015, my mother was hospitalized in the ICU with a Diverticiuli bleed. Her hemoglobin count was only 5 and she needed 12 units of blood transfusions. Since then, my mother has been hospitalized once more with another 8 units of blood needed. We are hoping the bleeding is under control and we won't have to go through any of this again, but there is no guarantee with Crohn's.
Since fall 2015, my mother has been unable to work and has been put on permanent disability. Being the caring, loving nurse that my mother is, this decision was very hard for her to make but she had no choice. My mother's Crohn's has affected many other areas of her health. She has developed Rhumetoid Arthritis and cannot walk for more than a few minutes without feeling pain. Unfortunately, biologic drugs such as Humira have failed my mother so there is nothing medically we can do at this time.
This is why we need help. Not working has put my mother in a poor financial situation. Not only do we have our family, but my mother does a ton of animal rescue work that has been draining what little money she has. Most people will tell her to stop, but she will never give up on the animals she loves.
We have tried for the past two years to catch up on things but are unable to. Anything given would mean the world to my mother so she could start trying alternative medicine to help her so she hopefully become healthy enough again to work. It has taken a lot for us to come forward and ask for help, anything given would mean the world to us. Love you all.
