Hey all, my name is Cori [@cori5mith] and I'm a man with Endometriosis. Endometriosis is a debilitating disease which affects "1 in 10 people born with a Uterus." As a man, it has been pretty tricky navigating the health system, and being taken seriously. My hopes are to save up enough money for Excision surgery. It will give me the best chance at having a semi-normal life. This lawsuit, and my health have left me massively in debt. My car was repossessed-- my car was my job, gave me freedom for work, and got me to multiple doctors appointments a month [sometimes a week] with the car gone: no more working income. We can no longer afford basic essentials: toiletries, medication.. Our power is going to be turned off in a week. My parents have helped as much as they can. I am in pain all of the time. I suffer daily pain, nausea, and extreme fatigue - holding me back significantly. I need to save up to hopefully have excision surgery, this year. Thank you so much for reading this, for being here. I appreciate anything you can give. ___If I by some miracle surpass this goal, I will create a Foundation to help others acquire excision surgery, better doctors (travel costs), access legal help with inclusivity against discrimination. ______ A little background on me: aside from Uber/Lyft driving as a once flexible source of income, I'm writing a book about my life & experiences. I am also a public speaker on a Trans experience-- engaging education students in creating inclusivity in classrooms. Preparing teachers to understand what transgender, nonbinary, and LGBQ youth go through and how they can help support them. Also speaking on Endometriosis, for better awareness towards a cure.
