Cultural Experiences for Students
Donation protected
Bonjour!
Great News! The French Back-to-Back Program has evolved and improved! We have moved to the Middle School at Parkside and have a new name - Parkside Exchange Program! Our move has been in collaboration between Frost, Parkside, and Administration in an effort to be more inclusive to our students. The 2016-2017 year is a period of transition for the program as we look forward to continuing the high quality exchange program Jackson Public Schools has offered since 1979. Miss Destiney Davis, French Language teacher at Parkside and Mrs. Donna Thomas, previous Back-to-Back teacher at Frost are leading the program to success.
Starting in 1979, students from JPS have traveled to France, living with host families and learning the many lessons that come from experiencing another culture. The JPS families have in turn, hosted a French child in their home, often forging lasting relationships with families across the globe. Over 800 families have participated in this amazing adventure!
This year, Parkside Exchange Program will be a host only program and is receiving a group of students from France in February of 2017. We would like to show our French guests the same quality program we have provided in the past. In order to do this, we need your help.
We are asking that you consider making a donation to the Parkside Exchange Program. Your donation will be used to fund educational and cultural field trips that enrich the experience for the French students while they are in Jackson, as well as to provide resources to ensure the continuation of the program. The American students hosting will be included in the field trips so your donation will also enhance the educational experience of students right here in our community.
Please consider making a donation to support the Parkside Exchange Program this year.
