Our facilities currently have carpet in the residents rooms. Carpet and wheelchairs/walkers just don't mix. The carpet has buckled and stretched, and thus caused movement by the residents without assistance difficult. One of our strongest beliefs is in giving only as much assistance as is needed for the person to accomplish tasks which will lead to increasing independence. Keeping the carpets clean is also a huge challenge, as spills are a nearly daily occurrence. We truly need new flooring that meets the needs of our residents. We are also looking to replace the window coverings in each room at the same time. The current coverings are hard for some of the residents to operate , and some are just too worn out to function properly. Again, we wish for our residents to have the freedom to let in some sun without our help if they choose.
Your donation today will directly improve the quality of life and ease the challenges of mobility for our residents. 100% of your donation will go toward purchasing new vinyl plank flooring and new vertical blinds for our residents rooms. We have already secured the labor, so we are just looking to cover the costs for materials. Flooring for cost of $450, Blinds for cost of $150. Total for each room is $600.00. We are starting out asking for donations to do three rooms, with the hope that we can do all of them before Christmas!
All donations are greatly appreciated! We are also offering a special room sponsorship for anyone donating a full $600. You'll receive a great big thank you from the residents and staff in the form of a simple but traditional thank you card, a super snazzy pen, and a special warmth in your heart for making a resident's life a little bit easier.
