Christmas Time's a Coming TAXED!

"Christmas Time's A Coming" and my father, Tex Logan, passed away on April 24, 2015. He was my hero, and for anyone who knows bluegrass music, an incredible musician and person. We were compadres and the idea of this Christmas without him has laid heavy in my heart. Last week I checked in with accountants and lawyers, only to find that because I live in one of two states that have archaic tax laws, will be taxed on a "calculated NJ formula" on the value of all future earnings of my father's royalties- the estate value of royalties. Their calculation is the last 5 years average, multiplied my New Jersey "life expectancy" of 23.6 more years. When this is added to the estate it will cost me over $38,000 in taxes. As a special ed teacher I don't have this monety to pay NJ. This has come as a real blow. I would like to stay in the house I have lived with Tex, without having to resign myself to getting auctioning off his musical legacy. For those of you who have ever liked my Dad's music or Christmas Time's A Coming, a dollar would help. Now I understand why Dad wrote "Northeast Seaboard Blues"....#Dicken's Christmas Carol. I wish I didn't have to do this...if I lived in any other state I would be ok. Nonetheless, "Christmas Time's A Coming" and I wish Tex Logan was here.
