Hello, my name is Dr. Smith and I am an expert in ion-matter interactions and nanoscale materials/device fabrication. I have authored/coauthored nearly 40 publications, and presented at workshops, seminars, forums, and plenary sessions. Through my interactions with the public schools here in Huntsville, I have developed a passion for providing students access to quality science education.
4SIGHT, INC. is dedicated to advocating historically under-represented minority students a quality science education starting from Kindergarten. Driving this mission are the objectives of the Federal Education Plan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). 4SIGHT’s goal is to strengthen the position of under-represented, overlooked, and under-served students within the STEM career pipeline by advocating for high-quality education.
Historically Huntsville, Alabama is known as Rocket City. Half of the German Rocket was stationed in Huntsville to Help America win the Space race in the 1960's and currently 30-50 billion dollars goes through the city via government contracts. However, today the access to a quality education in Huntsville is lacking. This is why I created 4 SIGHT INC to help address the absence of High School Physics courses at our local Title 1 (predominantly low income) high schools in Huntsville, Alabama.
At 4 SIGHT INC, we have a community-based FIRST Robotics team with students from these low-income families known as the Cyberjaggz. Our Robotics team is invited to the 2018 Rocket City Regional here in Huntsville, Alabama. In order to participate there is a huge financial bill that we cannot pay for on our own. A lot deals with paying for parts, Transportation, Food, Equipment, Software, Supplies, Materials, and Team Spirit Items. Essentially, without your help we cannot participate in this opportunity that we are invited to, being the only minority composed robotics team participating. The high school students who are participating in this competition are committed to doing the labor and are very excited about this competition. We are asking for your support by donating to help these students get to the competition. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated and we will continually update you with how the Cyberjaggz is doing throughout this process.
