I am Angela. I have ulcerative colitis. In the last year, I have suffered from a bunch of complications related to my ulcerative colitis and it's treatment. This has included drug-induced lupus, kidney infections, muscular problems with my back, severe sinus infections, and a horrible flareup of uveitis. Several people have asked me if they can contribute financially. So I made this Go Fund Me to allow people who wish to do so an opportunity. Please do not feel like you need to contribute. Love, prayers and support have been enough. I promise that every dollar contributed will be used to pay off my medical debt and to pay for remaining copays throughout this year. I have decent health insurance, but every doctor's appointment costs me a $40 copay. My medical expenses out of pocket so far in 2017 have been $3,573, which equates to just under $400 a month. I have a good job, but I work for a nonprofit so I'm not exactly rolling in the dough. My credit card has been the way that I pay for many of my doctor's appointments. As a result, it's been hard for me to afford things like new clothes and other household necessities. With my current eye problems, weekly eye doctor appointments are necessary. In addition, I will be following up in the next month with my Gastroenterologist, Rheumatologist and Primary Care doctor to figure out everything going on in my body and hopefully get on the track towards full health. My medical infusions of the medicine Entyvio are an additional every eight week copay.
If you do feel like contributing, as I said $40 pays a medical copay. But even $5 helps, as that provides me a day pass to provide a round trip to a doctor's appointment via the bus and subway. $15 buys me my favorite bahn mi sandwich, which has been my guilty pleasure through all of this stuff this year. Any contribution will be appreciated, and everyone who contributes will recieve a personal thank you card from me.
