I Need Your Help With Medical Cost

This is really hard for me to do.  I am usually the one who helps everyone especially in our family and helps take care of everyone and everything but this time I am the one needing help. 

Last year while I was out shopping with my daughter and nephew in the bike area of a store I was looking up to make sure I did not bump into any of the bikes or hula hoop my foot got stuck in a shipping strap that was left on the floor.  The strap was also still attached to a box in the aisle. Yes we have an attorney etc but nothing gets handled with all of that until after we see what the total outcome is going to be with my condition.

Somehow I have been pushing through and still working everyday through all of this.  Right now Ihave no feeling on the whole right side of my body from the presure on the nerve in my neck being pressed on.  They have tested and said that I have already lost some strenght in both my hand and foot on my right side.  Oh sorry I forgot to say I am right handed. I am on lots of meds to try and help with the pain and with the major head aches.  Everyday I have to take a pain pill to help before I can get ready for work and I have to do the same when I get home. I am not even allowed to let my fur babies jump on me or rough house with me. Anyone who know me know I do not like taking meds and my fur babies are my life.

During this past year we have tried several different treatments including therapy and after seeing two different Neurosurgeons they both have agreed that I need to have surgery on my neck right away or I will be paralyzed and will need to have someone take care of me as if I was an a toddler in diapers.

The recommended treatment from the last Neurosurgeon is to have two surgeries at once on my neck.  It would be for C3-C6 Anteior cervical disectomy and fusion C3- C6 Posterior Cervical fusion and Decompression.

It has scheduled forJanuary 18th.  It requires for me to stay in the hospital for at least 5 days. I will not be able to work and/or drive for at least 30 days, I will also have to wear a neck brace the whole time. 

After that I will be able to go back to work but my employer has said that I will not be able to come back as they will have to replace me right away as they are not able to have the position un-manned for a month. Even though I will start looking for a job right away I will have work restrictions including wearing a neck brace for 90 days.

They are hoping that this will resolve my problems that I have been having with my back as well but until the surgery is done and they can see how I recover we do not know if I will need other treatments for my back or hip or knee.

For me this is the worse thing ever as I am the strong one the one who has always been careful and never been hurt. 

Right now I am really trying to keep the faith, praying and taking a big leap of faith and looking forward to getting better.

I hate asking for help but I really do need help so if you can help I would appreciated it very much. 

All of the money is going toward the cost of the surgery and health cost. 

Yes I have health insurance through my work but as soon as I go out for the surgury I have to go on COBRA or OBAMA care and with my insurance my share of the cost for the surgery for the hospital is over $10,000 per the estimate they gave me today not including the doctors or the hospital stay.
