Smyth's Surgery
Hi I'm Smyth's mommy...He is my 6 year old chihuahua and I love this little guy to death. Smyth and his brother, Wessin have been in my life for about 6 years and they have won over the hearts of anyone who meet them.
Recently, Smyth substained an injury to his rear leg that has effected his ability to run, jump and at times even stand. Despite his injury, he continues to be a loving little dog that keeps trying to play with his brother and neighboring dogs.
So far, Smyth has been seen by four doctors.... His primary wellness doctor stated that he had a luxation patella and would need to see a specialist . I have then reached out to a surgeon at Todd Lane Vet hospital, who felt that Smyth's condition need to be treated at a facility that has an orthopedic surgeon and neurologist on staff.
I've met with an orthopedic surgeon at SouthPaw, as well as one of the neurologist at that site.
I've been informed that Smyth has a grade 3 patella luxation, however he is exhibiting some neurological issues with his rear left leg unrelated to his luxated patella. It appears that Smyth may have a herinated disc and experiencing nerve trauma. The neurologist has prescribed prednisone for a week to see if it helps any... If it does not.... The next course of action is the echo, MRI and possibly spinal surgery....
Any donation help my little guy get back to his fun playful little loving self.
I appreciate any help with funding Smyth's surgery. All money goes towards all of Smyth's medical expenses. Thank you and God bless.
