Family In Need of Home
Donation protected
We started this back in December 2018. Sadly we did end up homeless but the money donated helped us greatly with our search for a home. We we're forced to leave Calaveras county due to both safety concern and lack of assistance and assistance programs from the county. Due to my spouse, our second child, and myself being transgender it was starting to get rather dangerous for us to go even down the street without being threatened or verbally harassed. My child was shown some support at school by friends but sadly there were some who were not so kind to her. She faced physical and verbal bullying from a select few making her scared to go to school.
We are currently in Humboldt county sleeping in our car and hotels as we can afford them. We are working with the housing authority here it Eureka to get into low income housing but it can take up to 6 months to get approved. Right now we are having a hard time with being able to afford gas since we spend most of our time on the road to grocery stores, schools, and safe sleeping areas. As well as affording proper nutritional meals for the kids since we are limited to cold foods from the grocery stores. Joye's health is not getting better and is having to rely on the wheelchair more and more. With her seizures, and being easily prone to heatstroke things are very challenging for us.
Over the near three years we spent in our old home we knew there was a heavy mold issue that we personally combated with no assistance from the landlord, showing little care or concern for the safety and condition of the home. No matter how much we bleached and scrubbed the walls the mold would inevitably return. I will show pictures of the mold on our last day in the home. These are the areas that were cleaned three days prior to our last day.
We will be very appreciative to any shares and/or donations that anyone can do. Anything and everything helps!
