Daily Emerald sports travel fund

The University of Oregon men's basketball team has advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament. As UO's independent student-run publication, the Daily Emerald covers all things Ducks, and covering the NCAA tournament is one of the most exciting opportunities for Emerald sports reporters and photographers.

Advancing to the Sweet 16 as the only double-digit seed remaining in the field this year, the Ducks men's basketball team is the Cinderella story of the tournament.  After covering first and second round action in San Jose, sports editors Jack Butler and Maverick Pallack and senior photographer Ben Green are headed to Louisville to cover the Ducks' matchup with No. 1 seed Virginia on March 28.

Providing such opportunities for student-journalists is one of the core missions of the Emerald, but being an independent student non-profit publication comes with limited resources. Any donation large or small helps support independent student journalism and provides Emerald reporters with the opportunity to cover college basketball on its biggest stage alongside industry leading professionals.
