Dalley's "Cowgirl Christmas"!

Donation protected
The sweet Garfield family has graciously accepted to be the face of our Festival of Trees donation this year. The Festival of Trees has been bringing attention to childhood health and diseases and families in need for more than 25 years. We are happy to be apart of bringing families, friends and loved ones together during the holiday season to show that love still exists today in this world. All proceeds donated in behalf of Dalley Raye Garfield will go directly to the decorations and display of her Cowgirl Christmas tree. Any funds not used toward the tree will be donated in Dalley's name to Primary Children's Hospital.

The Garfield’s hold a special place in our hearts. Lacey and Adam’s love story is one for the books. They have proven time and time again that their love will see them through happiness, joy, loss and heartache.  Though the last 5 years have been some of the most heartbreaking they continue to strive for what is best for their little family, regardless of how hard it has been.

Their deep heartache to become parents was becoming a reality, as they announced that they we were pregnant with triplets following several years of infertility. It was not long after their announcement that Lacey started to experience the horrific signs of preeclampsia. She fought hard to keep the triplets safe but soon realized there was a different plan for these sweet angels. Faith, Hope and Charity were meant to bless the lives of their parents as they were born and returned to heaven on December 4, 2015. The girls were laid to rest next to Lacey’s parents, who also left too soon. It seemed too great a sorrow to carry, yet they carried on.

A sweet surprise came not long after saying goodbye to their girls as they found out that Lacey was pregnant again. With so many raw feelings, fear and uncertainty swept in as their sweet baby grew. The fear of losing another baby took over as pregnancy took over Lacey’s body again. They cautiously announced that they were pregnant again and requested prayers and good thoughts on their behalf. The Garfield family’s support group rallied around with prayers and support as the excitement of another little one became a reality. Shortly after the announcement, Lacey was admitted to the hospital at 22 weeks. More prayers continued as the preeclampsia signs started to set in. At just 24 weeks Lacey’s body had fought long and hard to keep her baby girl safe. It was determined that it would be too dangerous to continue with the pregnancy. Dalley Raye Garfield was born on December 20, 2016 and rushed to the NICU in every attempt possible to keep her with us.

The fight to keep Dalley alive began as Lacey stayed at the Ronald McDonald home and Adam stayed in Provo to continue going to PA school. They stayed connected over facetime as Dalley fought for her life. Lacey watched many times as her tiny 1 pound 2 oz baby fought like hell to fight off numerous infections, receive countless blood transfusions and defeat the odds laid before her. Many times the fight was too overwhelming to witness and Adam would drive from Provo to be with his wife and sick baby.

After 159 days of being in the NICU, Dalley was released weighing in at 8 lb 8 oz to continue her fight from the walls of her very own home. It was an exciting day as Lacey and Dalley would be able to be closer to Adam. They now spend their days working on learning to eat, strengthening Dalley’s lungs, sitting up, playing, reading books and lots of singing “You are my Sunshine”. Dalley continues to improve and is sure let everyone know that she is a fighter with 3 amazing angel sisters cheering her on.
