Dan Taylor family scholarship fund
Don protégé
The Dan Taylor family scholarship will be given to adult amateurs training their own horse(s) up the levels in dressage. Dan was an active participant in the horse show world thanks to his horse-crazy daughters, Karen and Lisa. He took on many roles over the years such as gatekeeper, announcer, food sponsor, class sponsor, groom, food-bringer, water man and treat giver to his daughters' horses.

His support and love is the reason his daughters were able to pursue their dreams.
Dan died in December 2017, and daughter Karen wanted to keep her "show dad" and his memory alive and thought what better way than to help others pursue their dreams, just as her father had for her for several decades.
The goal of this scholarship is to provide support to working amateurs who are training their own horses.
More details on the perimeters of the grant will follow, but it will be gifted through the Indiana Dressage Society.
The goal is for this grant to be self-funding after a few years, and Karen hopes with enough seed money that she can expand this scholarship and offer something similar to other organizations.
Any money raised beyond this goal will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
