It is with immeasurable sadness I have to announce the death of our talented, humble friend--one of our most cherished gallery artists--Daniel Ng. Daniel passed away over the weekend in Dallas, TX while at an art show. He was in excellent health and it is still a mystery to us all why someone who brought so much beauty to this world has been taken from us much too soon. Daniel has brought so much to our community. We are honored he selected our gallery to be his exclusive agent for his work.
Daniel studied our landscapes and our Palouse culture to bring us the 5' x 7' painting, Athens of Idaho, a University of Idaho painting celebrating 125 years and the inauguration of our current President, Chuck Staben. Daniel was in love with the Palouse. He painted a collection of four Palouse scenes over the past year depicting the bright colors of the rolling hills throughout the seasons. He was working on new paintings to bring to Moscow for this year's ArtWalk where he was scheduled to be our featured artist again after last year's extraordinary event.
Last year, Daniel brought two original Palouse Paintings that sold within hours of his arrival. He spent the evening casually chatting with the members of our community--throughly enjoying every moment of the party, and utterly amazed by our special little community in Idaho where his art is so greatly appreciated and supported. Moscow felt like a second home to our dear friend, Daniel, and he was eager to return for this year's event.
Daniel leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandra, who cannot begin to imagine her life without Daniel's creative views to guide her. We are grateful for the colorful canvases that surround her. This year, we are retaining Daniel as our featured artist for ArtWalk in his memory and intend to focus on the vividness and beauty he brought into our lives. The sales from the remaining giclee prints from Daniel will help support his wife through this time.
If you would like to make a donation in Daniel's honor to support his family through this time, an account has been set up at Chase Bank under "Daniel Ng Donation Account" or you can make a donation online through this site.
We sincerely thank you for your support of this incredibly special man and the wife he leaves behind.
