David and Jonathan is a musical based upon the Biblical characters King Saul, Jonathan, his son, and young David, the Sheppard boy.
David is summoned to the royal court of King Saul to play his harp and sing, in an attempt to sooth the troubled king. While in King Saul’s royal court, his son Jonathan sees David and is smitten by him.
The two became emotionally inseparable, much to the distain of King Saul. Not only disliking the relationship of his son and David, he also finds out from Yahweh that David, the Sheppard boy, will one day take his throne.
Music by Tommy Dodson
Libretto and lyrics by Curtis W. Long
The funds will be used for paying the actors, director, and providing for a venue.
