Lo-Key EP Album Release Party
Davie Goodman is a singer-songwriter / producer living in Oakland, CA. He’s a multi-instrumentalist who makes indie rock n’ roll music. Davie grew up in Irvine, CA. He got his first drumset when he was 12, and began taking drum and vocal lessons. Throughout his teens, Davie learned guitar and bass, focusing on punk, death metal and learning songs by artists such as Everclear and Elliott Smith. Davie started learning some different genres, like Ska, Hip-Hop, and Funk, and learning recording and mixing at high school in Ojai, where he played acoustic guitar covers and drums in various talent show acts. After moving to Santa Cruz in 2008, he joined the reggae band Ancestree in 2010 and started teaching himself to play piano and organ. Davie played shows and toured up-and-down the West Coast with Ancestree, and recorded three studio albums with the band. In 2015, Davie got started writing and recording the music for Lo-Key EP, his debut indie rock album.
To capture the vintage, analog warmth felt in Lo-Key EP (2017), Davie got his hands on an 8-track reel-to-reel tape machine from the 80's and spent many late nights restoring it to working condition. He then recorded all the instruments and vocals himself, mainly based out of his Santa Cruz bedroom/bathroom. The grungy, full sound heard on this album is reminiscent of psychedelic rock 'n roll from the 60's and 70's with blues, bossa nova, and jazz influences.
Lo-Key EP is pressed and almost ready for the imminent release June 1, 2017! We are very excited to be planning the album release party and preparing to get Davie's music into the world. This is where we need your help. Funds raised in this campaign will go towards:
- Mastering, Pressing CDs, and Legal fees required to make this CD a reality
- Booking Bands for two release party shows
- Creating awesome merchandise like stickers, hats, patches, and posters (shout out to Berzerker Prints for all the merch)
- Promoting the release parties

"This is my first album, and it means a lot to me. The music is from my own heart and mind, and it's been quite a journey so far.
