Dawn Keyes Fights Cancer Fund
Donation protected
On Thursday, February 23, 2017, 42-year-old Dawn Keyes received news that no woman wants to hear. She was told that she had a type of breast cancer called Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Obviously, the news was a tremendous blow, but Dawn is an extremely strong and capable woman and she is approaching her treatment with remarkable inner strength and a positive attitude. Dawn, a registered nurse, and her husband Brian, a firefighter, are normally in the role of providing care for others, so the thought of actually receiving help is not something that either of them are particularly comfortable with. Both Dawn and Brian are extremely hard working and do an outstanding job of providing for their family’s physical and emotional wellbeing. The reality is though that the road to Dawn’s recovery is going to be a long one and she will not be able to work for an extended period of time. Brian’s job as a firefighter will meet the family’s day-to-day financial needs, but any unforeseen expenses could put the Keyes family in a financially stressful situation, which will only add to the overwhelming emotional burden they are already bearing. The purpose of this Go-Fund-Me page is two-fold. First, money raised will help provide a financial buffer for the Keyes family in the event of any unforeseen expenses, whether they are medically related or not. We have all had issues pop up at home that stretch our finances to the limit, which can be extremely stressful. The funds raised through this campaign would allow the Keyes family to put their financial worries aside and focus on the only thing that is important to them, which is Dawn’s recovery. The second purpose of this campaign is to give people near and far an opportunity to show the Keyes family just how much they are loved, respected, and cared for. When someone falls ill, friends often inquire about what they can do to help. By making a donation on this page you can help the Keyes family ease their financial worries while simultaneously showing them that you are there for them in their time of need. We are confident that if the situation were reversed, both Dawn and Brian would be there for all of us.
