An Amazing Opportunity for Deaf Youth!
The Deaf Crows  teens have been invited to travel to Edmonton to perform their original one-act ASL/mask play at Sound Off , a major Canadian Deaf Theatre Festival in history!! You can help make this dream come true! Watch our video or read on for more information...

What is Deaf Crows?
Deaf Crows is a beautiful original physical theatre play, created and performed collaboratively by Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth and members of the Regina Deaf Community, directed by professional theatre artists in residence. Deaf Crows uses puppetry, mime, mask, projection, and American Sign Language poetry to tell personal stories about growing up deaf, and living as a deaf person in a hearing world.

The unexpected, overwhelming success of the premiere production of Deaf Crows (Artesian Theatre, Regina Saskatchewan, June 2016), was beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. Deaf Crows played to packed houses of mixed Hearing and Deaf audiences. There were tears, laughter, and wonder at the beauty of American Sign Language. Deaf Crows  brought new understanding for Hearing audiences, and validation for Deaf audiences. The play provoked discussion and profound concern about the challenges facing Deaf children and youth, and greatly empowered the Deaf youth, giving them a public voice for the first time.

Invited to Deaf Theatre Festival!
To the utter excitement of the Deaf teens involved in the production, Deaf Crows has now been invited to present the show at the Soundoff Deaf Theatre Festival in Edmonton, Alberta, February 14 - 19,  2017, presented by Workshop West Playwrights Theatre, a major festival in Canadian history to showcase the work of Deaf playwrights and actors.

The Deaf Crows Need Your Help!Your donation will help the Deaf Crows realize this amazing dream of traveling to a theatre festival especially geared for Deaf artists. In addition to presenting their own work, the Deaf youth will be able to participate in workshops, attend Deaf performances, and most importantly, meet other Deaf theatre artists and members of the larger Deaf community. This will be a life-changing experience for these Deaf youth, who are very isolated in Saskatchewan, and who have never had a chance like this before.
Please donate! Your money will be used to give these young Deaf people a once-in-a-lifetime experience!!
