I am profoundly grateful to everyone for your prayers, support, messages of love, and most importantly hope, for the future. I have been offered my first "industry" job in years and may it only be the beginning of many more blessings to come because when one door closes many more are opened. And yes, of course, I have submitted many job applications and I have had many jobs outside of the industry in administration, finance, marketing, and retail. Even with two jobs, like so many others who live check to check, I was still living below the poverty line, on the verge of homelessness. Then it happened without job security, I became a statistic. Making the decision to ask for help was not easy, pride can be the downfall for anyone who refuses to be humble. "You can overcome anything in life. But first, you must be willing to live in your truth" I am not sure of the origin of that quote, but I know I resonated with it sincerely. Do we face the challenges in life or do we turn away, in essence turning our back on ourselves and giving up? Not everyone's dilemma is the same, some times the choice might be to let go, and other times it requires holding on. I chose to stand firm in love, to be honest, and transparent about my situation even though I knew that there would also be hate, ridicule, and judgment. But there were more people for me than against me and that fact I can never take for granted as I go through the list of donors thanking you individually. Starting with the family that took myself and my daughter into their home so we could be surrounded by dignity as we search for stability.
