Defibrillator for St. Peter's

Donation protected

My name is Matthew Foreman, and I am a Boy Scout with Troop 417 at St. Peter’s. I graduated from St. Peter’s School in 2013 and have remained active in the parish through altar service and the World Youth Day 2016 group.

For the past few months, I have been working to complete my Eagle Scout Project. I am purchasing a defibrillator for St. Peter's Parish, placing it within the school, and arranging a class to teach about its use for the school faculty and any others who are willing.

I believe the defibrillator will be an extremely useful and beneficial addition to our parish. Statistics from the American Red Cross show that each minute defibrillation is delayed for cardiac arrest victims, their chances of survival go down 10%, and that medical responders can take up to 9 minutes or more to arrive on scene. If a parishioner, for example, were to have a cardiac arrest, a parish defibrillator in the hands of a trained person could greatly increase that parishioners chances of survival.

Most public facilities have defibrillators now in the event that a scenario like this happens. Feel free to donate if you would like to support this cause. All the money from this GoFundMe pageand other sources will go directly towards purchasing the defibrillator. I have already raised $300 and need another $1000 to buy the defibrillator.

Thank you for any financial assistance you can give. I greatly appreciate your desire to make St. Peter's a safer place.
